So, I found some shoes I like. A lot. They're totally sexy and amazing, and all the reviews say they are super comfortable (a MUST with all the dancing I plan on doing). Now, the only problem is... Well, you just want me to show you, huh! Okay, okay. I'll stop stalling and just show you already!
Aren't they fabulous?!
So, I haven't decided what color I want though. Because it comes in the gorgeous Navy shown above (hellooooo, something blue...) but it also comes in "baby pink"- which is an option depending on how it works with my dress). And, it comes in a fabulous green color, which is bright and amazing and totally goes with my color scheme.
But, alas, I am at a crossroads. There is also a great blue color. Amazing. It's not a part of my colors, it would complement my dress, and be my something blue. I would totally wear them again. And they're great. I just can't decide. Between the neutral navy (which again, could be worn again), the cute pink, the fashionable green and the bright blue, I cannot make a decision.
Now, for some cons to these amazing shoes... they have 4" heels. I would be super tall. Like a giant. I'm already 5'9" so, I would be 6'1 in those shoes. I would still be shorter than Trenton, but those are some HIGH heels. I read reviews saying that they are really comfortable, so I'm hoping that I'll be fine in them, but that's really tall... I need tall heels for my dress to not need altering, so I wouldn't mind the four-inch heels. Anyone else think I'm crazy for 4" heels!? Also, these shoes are almost as expensive as my dress. I mean, they're pretty nice heels, a good company, and very comfortable from what I've read. Macy's has them in store that I could try them on, but only carries three colors, none of which I want, so I'll be paying shipping from the Nina website. Not bad, but not cheap either.
Now to leave you with some pictures...
What do you think? What color do you think I should go with? Think they're worth the money?

I love love love the bow on the shoes! I'm a huge bow person though :) I also love the fact that there is a strap so you won't be pulling a Cinderella and losing a shoe while getting jiggy wit it on the dance floor at the reception. I also love the navy color. Very cute :)
ReplyDeleteMy only concern for you is the height of the heel. I would be worried about being wobbly on the wedding day and twisting an ankle or something. But if you're good in heels and/or practice before then, you'd be fine. :)
So excited for you! It's getting so close!
Thanks, Mags! If I do end up in these shoes, I'll have to start just wandering around my apartment in the heels to get used to them. :P My roommate loves loves LOVES the china blue ones, rather than any of the other colors.
ReplyDeleteI'm a pretty big fan of the bow on my shoes. I didn't want one on my dress, but I think on my shoes they would be really cute. I think the navy color would be most practical for post-wedding use, but we'll just have to see. I need to go try them on before I buy them online. :) I'll post if I buy them.
Oh, and Maggie, if I wanted I could pay about $30 more and get a shorter heel (only about 3"). More manageable definitely, but we'll see. D'no if it's worth $30 extra. I'll have to try them on.
ReplyDeleteI'd say they'd only be worth the extra $30 if they were more comfortable. If they aren't, I'd spend the $30 on a wicked cute pedicure to go with the cute shoes :)
ReplyDeleteI think the Navy is my favorite, and seems the most re-wearable, but I also really like the bright blue and the green (I'm not crazy about the pale pink). From a color scheme standpoint, I wouldn't worry about it too much. My bright red shoes certainly didn't play into the rest of my color scheme in any way, but they were a fun pop of color and made me feel like a million bucks. Also, I still wear them at least once a week.
ReplyDeleteWhether you're buying them in-store or online, I would definitely go try them on (in the right color or not) if possible before you buy them. It's not just the height that worries me, but also the stiletto nature of the heel. Mine were somewhere around 3.5", but had a nice wide base to the heel so were much more comfortable and sturdy (particularly on the dance floor and up the aisle) than stilettos would have been. I felt fine on my feet all evening, but as soon as I got in the car to go to the hotel, I realized that my feet were on fiiiire. No regrets though. :P
I did go try them on, so I know what size I need. Now it's just getting some foot petals for the balls of my feet to really help the foot pain business. The shoes themselves are fairly comfortable, but they might need some extra help for how long I'll be on my feet. The extra strap on the back also really helps sturdy me in the shoes, so I think I'll be okay. :) I'm going to prance around my house in them to get better at walking with them.
